Russell Fast - Board Chair
In addition to current responsibilities as Board Chair of Credit Union Central of Manitoba and Vice Chair on Steinbach Credit Union’s Board, Russell has also served as Board Chair of the CUMIS Group. He has successfully coached a number of CEOs, with a particular focus on strategic planning and relationship building. In addition, as President and CEO of Russell Fast Group of Companies, he brings an entrepreneurial spirit and significant experience dealing in a multi-stakeholder environment. His community involvement includes acting as Board Chair of the R and D Family Foundation, formerly serving as Chair of South East Helping Hands and has been a member of the Board of Directors to the Mennonite Heritage Museum and the Franklin Graham Festival.
Rick Sielski - Vice Chair
As Chief Operating Officer, Member Services at Vancity, Rick has executive responsibility for member-facing lines of business: branch-focused financial services, wealth management, small and medium-sized business, commercial mortgages, venture capital, Visa, foreign exchange and call centre divisions. Prior to joining Vancity, Rick held a number of senior roles, including District VP at TD Canada Trust; President & Chief Operating Officer of TD Waterhouse Private Investment Counsel; and VP, Regional Sales for Fidelity Investments. He is a Certified Financial Planner and Personal Financial Planner and also serves on the boards of Citizens Bank of Canada and the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Coast BC.
Randy Biberdorf - Director
Randy Biberdorf brings over 24 years of progressive experience in the wealth management and retail banking industries. Randy spent the first part of his career as an IIROC licensed Investment Advisor and then as a sales leader and coach to a team of advisors. In those roles, he observed the transformational effect that financial planning advice and advocacy can have on the lives of Canadians, inspiring him to progress into more senior strategy and operational oversight roles at MD Financial and now as Senior Vice President, Wealth Management, Insurance & Trust at Servus Credit Union. He has earned the Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Investment Manager, Certified International Wealth Manager, and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute designations. Randy also serves on the Investment Committee for the Edmonton Community Foundation.
Marilyn Brennan - Director
Marilyn Brennan is the Senior Vice President of Governance and Strategy for Credit Union Central of Manitoba, and an Adjunct Professor of the Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba. She brings more than 25 years of financial services industry experience and has held a number of senior roles with CIBC including Vice President/Region Head, Central Canada, CIBC Wealth Management. Marilyn holds both an MBA and Ph.D. (Finance) from the University of Manitoba, as well as a number of industry designations including Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Investment Manager, Personal Financial Planner, and Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers. In addition, she has completed the ICD - Rotman Directors Education Program and holds the ICD.D Corporate Directors designation. She is a recipient of the Diversity 50 2014 Award from the Canadian Board Diversity Council and an inducted member of the International Honour Society Beta Gamma Sigma.
Chris Catliff - Director
A 28-year veteran of the financial services industry, Chris Catliff has held the position of President and CEO for BlueShore Financial since 2000. Chris contributed significantly to Credential’s corporate strategy during his term as Board Chair from 2011-2013. He brings years of senior board experience to Credential Financial and proven results in developing financial institutions through the use of innovative technology, premium client experiences and engaged employees. Prior to joining BlueShore Financial, Chris held a variety of executive management positions at Vancity Credit Union and Citizens Bank as well as management positions in corporate affairs, credit, treasury, technology and strategy. Chris has devoted his career to building better credit unions and currently holds the positions of Chair, United Mortgage Group and Director, BlueShore Financial Leasing.
Kathy Conway - Director
Kathy Conway is currently the President and CEO of Interior Savings Credit Union, located in the Interior of British Columbia. Prior to joining Interior Savings in 2002 as the CFO, Kathy spent 12 years at Vancity. Kathy was awarded the fellowship designation (FCA) by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC in 2004 for service to the profession and community contribution. She served as National Chairperson of the Financial Executives International from 2006-2008, the Chairperson of the Audit Committee for the BC Lottery Corporation from 2006-2008, acted as a public representative for the Audit Hearing Panel of the Medical Services Commission for the Ministry of Health. She is currently on the Board of Directors for the United Way of the Central Okanagan having been campaign chair in both 2011 and 2012.
Eric Dillon - Director
Eric Dillon is a passionate and energetic leader with more than 20 years’ experience as a financial services professional. Prior to joining Conexus Credit Union as CEO, Eric was Chief Operating Officer and a member of the Executive Leadership Team of Servus Credit Union. He has been involved as a course facilitator for the Canadian credit union learning organization and has served on the Board of Credit Union Central of Alberta. He has been previously recognized by Credit Union Central of Canada as the National Young Leader Award winner. Eric has been actively involved in the community through Regional Health Foundations, post-secondary school Advisory Boards, United Way, Kinsmen Club and other community development organizations.
Adrian Legin - Director
Adrian is President and CEO of Coastal Community Credit Union. Previously, he served as Executive Vice-President of Retail Operations, and Executive Vice-President of Operations and E-business at Conexus Credit Union. He has held senior management positions in the private and public sectors—within the financial services, provincial government, mining, and telecommunications industries—with a successful track record in mergers, acquisitions and strategic alliances. Focused on helping on issues related to building healthier regions and communities, he has held committee or board of director positions in financial services, health care, technology, education, economic development and business chambers. He obtained his MBA from Queen’s University.
Marcel Schroder - Director
Marcel Schroder is the Managing Director of Vault Circle/Lendified where he oversees the development and strategic growth of the investment company. He is an experienced global wealth management executive with broad experience building profitable start-up businesses, restructuring underperforming divisions and streamlining operations. He has held a number of senior roles with Scotiabank including MD & Head of Scotiabank’s International Asset Management division and Vice President of Investment Products where he developed the Pension and Mutual Fund divisions. He has a strong business acumen developed through progressive career moves in diverse businesses including Sales Technology, Risk Management, Sales & Service, Private Banking & Trust and Retail Banking. Marcel has held a number of public and private board positions for wealth management, pension and mutual fund companies. He has a degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario, is a graduate of the Executive Development Program from The Richard Ivey School of Business, is a member of ICD and has his CFP, STI and MTI Financial Services designations.
Gavin Toy - Director
As President and CEO of Westminster Savings, Gavin leads a progressive and dynamic leadership team to help shape and guide the credit union's strategic direction. Gavin joined Westminster Savings in 2011 as Senior Vice President and CFO, and was appointed President and CEO in 2012. Prior to Westminster Savings, Gavin held a number of executive level positions with the British Columbia Automobile Association, another prominent BC member-based organization. Most recently he was Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer at BCAA with responsibility for all customer-facing operations. Spanning a 16-year career at BCAA, other roles included Vice President Business Development, Director of Finance and Corporate Treasurer. Gavin is a chartered professional accountant (CA) by training and a KPMG alumnus. He is a graduate of the Queen's University Executive Leadership program, holds a business degree from Simon Fraser University and is currently enrolled in the ICD program. Gavin is board chair at Canuck Place Children's Hospice, chairs the boards of two national finance companies, and chairs an industry forum responsible for unlocking strategic value for Canadian small business owners.
Bruce West - Director
Bruce West brings 30 years of progressive financial and managerial experience in operations, corporate development, and financial management in the insurance, banking and technology industries. He is currently Executive Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer at The Co-operators Group Limited where he is responsible for all financial functions, enterprise risk management, capital management and corporate development. He serves on the Board of Directors for a number of companies in The Co operators Group, as well as a TSX listed company. Bruce sits on the Dean’s Advisory Council at the School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University and is a member of the alumni group at the School of Accounting and Finance at University of Waterloo. He is a member of the Financial Executives Institute of Canada and is a Chartered Director (C.Dir.).
