Doce Tomic

As President & CEO, Doce provides strategic business planning and leadership to the firm. With his clear vision and emphasis on developing values-driven solutions for our partners, Credential’s assets under administration have grown substantially since he joined the firm in 2009.

With over 20 years in the financial services industry, Doce brings significant investment advisory, wealth management, and executive experience gained through senior positions with several of RBC’s Canadian businesses, including: Dominion Securities, Action Direct, Private Banking, Private Trust, and Private Counsel. More recently, he held the positions of COO for Wellington West Capital, President of Wellington West Asset Management, and President of Ticoon Technology Inc.

He is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) and TEC Canada, a peer advisory group for Chief Executives.

Doce sustains a healthy work-life balance by embracing a number of outdoor activities — golf, boarding, hiking, snowshoeing, and running — together with his wife and Bentley, their Weimaraner.

Rod Ancrum
SVP, Chief Financial Officer

Rod Ancrum

Rod’s primary responsibilities include financial management with a focus on driving results and managing financial risk, ensuring operational and technological efficiency, and leadership of specific strategic initiatives to support the growth of the business. His results-focused style and expertise in developing and executing strategy play a major role in Credential’s success.

Prior to joining Credential, Rod spent 20 years at RBC in progressively senior roles in Finance and Operations across several business platforms including Card Services, Canadian Wealth Management and Global Technology & Operations. Some of his prior roles include VP & CFO of RBC Direct Investing and RBC Private Counsel, VP, Director & Head of Finance for the Canadian Wealth Management Group and VP, Director, Investment Services for RBC Direct Investing.

He is a Chartered Accountant who has completed the Partners, Directors and Senior Officers (PDO) and CFO Qualifying Exam courses from the Canadian Securities Institute.

As a transplanted Torontonian/Montrealer, Rod and his family have immersed themselves into the west coast lifestyle — hiking, kayaking, skiing, and walking the dogs in the rain.

Matt Brown
SVP, People and Culture

Matt Brown

Matt oversees human resources with the goal of creating a highly engaging environment that attracts and retains top talent from across the country. Matt’s focus on building HR programs that reinforce Credential’s values of Partnership, Innovation and Community is a key enabler to ensuring that Credential’s culture embodies continuous improvement and customer-centric thinking.

Prior to Credential, Matt spent 11 years in the high-tech sector with Crystal Decisions, Business Objects, and SAP. During this time, he held a diverse range of roles including Senior Director of HR for Asia Pacific, Vice President, Global Recruiting and Talent Management, and Vice-President, North American HR.

Matt currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Sanford Housing Foundation — an organization dedicated to building and operating affordable social housing in Vancouver. Matt and his wife have 3 daughters and he is an avid triathlete, completing Ironman Canada in 2013.

Yasmin Lalani
SVP, Legal, Risk Management & Chief Counsel

Yasmin Lalani

Yasmin oversees Credential’s legal, risk management, privacy and compliance activities and serves as the firm’s Corporate Secretary. She is focused on establishing a sound risk management framework and strong governance practices that are aligned with corporate strategy to position the company for growth and profitability.

With 16 years of experience in the financial services and wealth management business, she specializes in securities and corporate/commercial law.

Yasmin is a member of the British Columbia Law Society, the Credit Union Central of Canada Legislative Affairs Committee, and the Institute of Corporate Directors.

In her free time, Yasmin indulges in her passion for books, cooking and enjoying life with friends and family.

Kim Thompson
SVP, Advisory Services

Kim Thompson

Kim provides strategic direction and oversight in the creation of wealth management programs, products and services to accelerate growth across all distribution channels, including Credential's online brokerage channel, Credential Direct. She also provides strategic guidance on corporate positioning and profile, and overall partner and client experience.

Kim brings over 20 years progressive experience in the investment and financial services industry with firms such as TD Bank, Connor Clark & Lunn Financial Group, and Fidelity Investments Canada. She has successfully developed and implemented wealth management and client relationship management strategies, and influenced distribution channels, including banking, mutual fund manufacturing, full-service brokerage and trust services. In 2013, Kim was named One of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women.

She has completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC), the Conduct and Practice Handbook (CPH), and the Partners, Directors, and Senior Officers (PDO) courses and formerly practiced as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

Outside of work, Kim gives her undivided attention to her family, volunteering much of her time (and extending her passion for excellence) to the many community sports programs her children participate in.

Glenn Thorarinson
SVP, Business Consulting

Glenn Thorarinson

Strategic account management and business development support for Credential’s partners are Glenn’s primary areas of focus. His team Regional Vice Presidents and Sales Development Managers provide strategic planning and program management to the investment and insurance advisors segments.

Glenn has held the Regional Vice President role with Credential and the CUMIS Group, as well as management positions with CUPFA, Equinox Financial and Great West Life, culminating in over 20 years of experience in the business.

He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant, and is IIROC, Life and A&S licensed. He has completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC), Conduct and Practice Handbook (CPH), and Wealth Management Essentials (WME) from the Canadian Securities Institute. He is also an active member of Advocis and of the Strategic Account Management Association (SAMA).

Glenn lives in Winnipeg where he loves spending time with his family, hiking, camping, canoeing and traveling.

Kevin Vanderheyden
SVP, Correspondent Services, Sales & Trading

Kevin Vanderheyden

Kevin is responsible for Credential's custody services offering as well as all trade-related activities — including equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, securities lending and new issues.

With 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Kevin brings significant trading, correspondent, wealth management and executive experience. He has held key senior positions at TD Bank Financial Group and Penson Financial Services Canada. Kevin has a proven track record of growing assets, identifying opportunities for growth and capturing new business, building client relationships, and implementing marketing strategies to help partners grow their business.

He holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation and the Fellow of CSI designation (FCSI).

Kevin resides in his hometown of Calgary, and can be found skiing with his family in and around Banff most weekends.
